Salman Khan's "Kick 2" has been on the anvil for a year now. Sajid Nadiadwala confirmed it will roll probably by the next year.
"We are still writing. It's in scripting stage. It will mostly happen next year. There is a pressure, but we are working hard on the script," the producer-director told the Press Trust of India. Last year, Salman had stressed that the sequel required a fresh pairing, pushing Jacqueline Fernandez out of the picture.
Kriti Sanon is one of the strongest contenders for the role opposite Salman, SpotboyE reports. The superstar has apparently been keen on sharing screen space with Kriti, whom he wanted on board for "Sultan" (his upcoming film) as well.
Amy Jackson's statement that she'd love to work with Salman someday sparked rumours of her being considered for "Kick 2." The Brit import only said she was approached for "Kick" but couldn't okay it as she had signed a three-film contract with "I" director Shankar.
"It is my dream to work with him. Salman and I are good friends and I hope I get a chance to work with him again soon," she had told Catch News last year.
The casting speculations are getting interesting by the day, but what has his fans' attention is the double role he confirmed he'd be essaying. Apparently, he is his own nemesis in the film. "Salman has announced that he will be playing a double role in Kick 2. What is not known is that one character is a positive one, while the other is an out-and-out villain. That's the idea," DNA quoted a source as saying.
In other news, Salman has his complete focus on "Sultan," in which he plays a wrestler based out of Haryana. The actor, according to reports, is leaving no stone unturned to make it a special performance. He has sworn off alcohol until he wraps up shoot for the action-drama. Scheduled for an Eid release, it also features Anushka Sharma.
