Veteran script writer Salim Khan has unexpectedly spoken about his son Salman's equation with Shah Rukh and insisted that the two can never be on friendly terms.
Salim has hinted that since both superstars are the industry's biggest personalities, the ego factor will always come in the way of their friendship.
"They are two individuals... Grown up people. I think there cannot be love between rivals. There can be courtesy. To have love between Salman and Shah Rukh is not possible," Salim said, according to PTI. "One should not expect that if Shah Rukh's film is a success then Salman will dance and celebrate. Or if Salman's film is a hit so Shah Rukh will throw a party... It's not possible."
Clarifying his point further, he gave references to industry stalwarts Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand and Dilip Kumar who kept cordial relationships with each other.
Salman and Shah Rukh had made an amicable move to each other at an Iftaar party this year, but there have been no other instances of them reconciling. They have made several kind references to each other which was limited to courtesy only.
At Sohail Khan's recent Diwali bash, Shah Rukh's wife Gauri was spotted at the party without her husband. Incidentally, SRK attended the Bachchan's Diwali bash with Gauri but when it came to visiting the Khan house, the superstar gave it a miss.
