The much anticipated All-star T20 series, which will witness former cricketers such as Wasim Akram, Shaun Pollock, Sourav Ganguly and Brian Lara amongst other retired cricketers, is inching closer as the first T20 game of the three-match T20 series will take shape on 7 November at Citi Field in New York.

All the matches are going to be played in baseball stadiums in the US. The second and the third T20 match have been scheduled at Minute Maid Park in Houston and the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles respectively. Drop in pitches are going to be used for the three-match All-star series, which makes matters even more interesting.
Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne are the architects behind the series and have named their respective teams as Sachin's Blasters and Warne's Warriors. Additionally, some world class cricketers, who have earned a huge name in the sport, have agreed to participate in the mega series to make it more glamorous. The teams for the All-star series are yet to be picked.
Cricket fans around the world may want the teams to be split in such a way that brings some top players against one another. One clash, which is surely going to take place, is Tendulkar vs Warne that was one of the most entertaining clashes to watch in the last decade.
Amongst other clashes, Glen McGrath vs Lara, Allan Donald vs Tendulkar, Akram vs Matthew Hayden and Akhtar vs Tendulkar is a possibility. However, the former Pakistani pacer, Akhtar, who enjoyed his fair share of duel against Tendulkar while representing their respective national sides, wants to be picked in Sachin's Blasters side.
Akhtar is fully aware that cricket fans in India will love to witness Akhtar vs Tendulkar duel, but he has requested Tendulkar to pick him in his side.
"I hope Sachin picks me in his team. Sachin I request you, I am done battling with you please pick me in your team. I know that every Indian wants to see me opposite you but please pick me in your team," Shoaib said told Star Sports.
The teams for the All-Star series are expected to be announced soon.
