Sachin Tendulkar's autobiography 'Playing It My Way' will be published in eight major Indian languages this year. Earlier, the Indian cricket legend's autobiography was published in English on 6 November, 2014 and it was a runaway success.
The book will be translated in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Malyalam, Marathi, Tamil and Telegu. The autobiography will be first pubslished in Marathi and has already gone for printing. The founder and chief of Mehta Publishing House, Anil Mehta confirmed the book will be available for sale both online and offline from 30 May.
"Currently, the book is in the presses and we are printing 20,000 copies in the first run. Later, we will bring out more as per the market demands," said Mehta according to IANS.
The book will be priced at around Rs 540-640 per copy. Mehta Publishing is reportedly holding 50,000 copies to sell and it could well be a record in Marathi.
'Playing It My Way' broke all the hardback records earlier in 2014, for any adult book across fiction and non-fiction genres. A top company official also confirmed that a paperback edition of the autobiography of the legendary batsman is also scheduled later this year.
"We have requested Sachin Tendulkar to visit Pune and autograph a few copies of the book," added Mehta. "It is the first non-English language translated version and also his mother-tongue, with matching content and images as the original English version."
