Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulakar's love for cars is well documented. His car garage in Mumbai had some of the world's most adored mean machines like Ferrari 360 Modena-- gifted to him by the legendary Michael Schumacher, and BMW i8 hybrid sports car. In 2001, Sachin sold his Ferrari 360 Modena to a Surat-based businessman and added a Nissan GT-R to his collection.
The legend seems to be on the lookout for a new contraption to add to his burgeoning collection of cars. If the emerging reports suggest, the Nissan GT-R, an Egoist edition and the only one in India, has been sold to an auto connoisseur in Mumbai. The GT-R Egoist, a bespoke model, came fitted with a Wald body kit.
Sachin's GT-R will now share space with an Aston Martin Vantage, Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG, Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG and a Shelby GT500CR, reports Motoroids. Sachin's current garage includes BMW 7-Series, BMW X5 M50d, Mercedes-Benz C36 AMG, Audi Q7, to name a few. The Cricketer is also the brand ambassador of BMW India.
Nissan GT-R Egoist edition comes powered a twin-turbocharged 3.8-L V6 engine tuned to churn out 565bhp at 6,400rpm and 633Nm of peak torque. The engine can propel GT-R from 0-100kmph in three seconds.
The Nissan GT-R, nicknamed Godzilla, was launched in India in December 2016 with a price tag of Rs. 1.99 crore. The GT-R is produced at Nissan's plant, Tochigi, Japan and is retailed in India through Nissan High-Performance Centre (NHPC), in Noida. Each engine of GT-R is assembled by one of five master craftsmen, called Takumi, at Nissan's plant in Yokohama, Japan.
