Fans are eagerly waiting for their Ramzan treat when the cricket God will be on the silver screen. We are talking about none other than Sachin Tendulkar, who is bringing his life story to the big screen in Sachin: A Billion Dreams.
This is not a proper commercial movie like M.S.Dhoni The Untold Story. Sachin himself will tell his story in the movie. Set to be released on May 26, Sachin A Billion Dreams has been given tax exemption in Odisha, Kerala and Chhattisgarh.
The movie is expected to have an opening day collection between Rs. 3-5 crore. A few single screens in Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune are already filled. And other cities' pre-booking stats are also pretty good.
As it is not a commercial Bollywood movie, it's a bit difficult to predict its opening collection.
Trade Analyst Sumit Kadel told Koimoi: "Since it is a documentary film, I don't have much box office expectations from it."
"This film is releasing on Ramzan which is considered a dull period for films as people don't usually go to theatres to watch films during this period," he added.
On the other hand, the producer of the film, Ravi Bhagchandka, told The Indian Express: "It is a film about a real life Baahubali, so we really can't predict box office numbers on it."
But there's a possibility that Sachin Tendulkar's biopic could turn into a blockbuster going by his huge fan following. We have seen such unexpected results after Baahubali: The Beginning released. It had shattered all records. So, Sachin: A Billion Dreams also have the potential to earn big. What do you think? Share your views in the comment box below.
