Sachin: A Billion Dreams (SABD) has made a decent collection at the domestic box office in the first week. Sachin Tendulkar biopic has inched closer to the mark of Rs 50 crore in seven days.
Sachin: A Billion Dreams is a documentary on the career and personal life of Sachin Tendulkar and many in B-Town were sceptic about its performance at the ticket counters. Released in 2,400 screens in the domestic market on May 26, the movie opened to fantastic response and went from strength to strength on Saturday and Sunday.
A strong word of mouth helped it to maintain rock-steady even on the weekdays. Its performance in its opening week has surprised many in the Hindi film industry. Sachin: A Billion Dreams collected Rs 27,85 crore nett in its opening weekend and Rs 13.15 crore on the weekdays.
Sachin: A Billion Dreams has collected a total of Rs 41.20 crore nett at the domestic box office in the first week. Its seven-day gross collection stands at Rs 57.22 crore. Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#SachinABillionDreams Fri 8.60 cr, Sat 9.20 cr, Sun 10.25 cr, Mon 4.20 cr, Tue 3.50 cr, Wed 3.05 cr, Thu 2.40 cr. Total: ₹ 41.20 cr."
Sachin: A Billion Dreams was released in four different languages like, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and English. Taran Adarsh posted the numbers collected by each version. The trade analyst tweeted: "#SachinABillionDreams - Week 1 Hindi: ₹ 35.99 cr Marathi: ₹ 1.67 cr Tamil: ₹ 1.40 cr Telugu: ₹ 1.58 cr English: ₹ 56 lakhs Total: ₹ 41.20 cr."
Sachin: A Billion Dreams is clashing with several small ticket movies, which have got it vacated from some cinema halls in its second week. The movie is expected to surpass Rs 50 crore mark in its second weekend.
