The stray dog menace has become a major issue in Kerala these days and many celebrities have come forward to express their views on the matter.
Popular televison anchor and actor Sabumon Abdusamad (Tharikida Sabu) was the latest celebrity to voice his opinion on the issue. However, his Facebook status message and messages about superstar Mohanlal landed him in trouble.
They also apparently prompted young filmmaker Sajan K Mathew, who is directing the upcoming Asif Ali starrer "St Peters Day" -- the debut production venture of Sabu -- to say that the film will be produced by someone else.
"I have decided to move my project 'St peters day' with another producer," Sajan posted on his Facebook profile on Monday. Read the full Facebook post HERE.
While stating his opinion on the increasing stray dog attacks in the South Indian state, Sabu had said that all such dogs should be killed to save human lives.
"Please stop culling dogs.. Kill them all, and save human lives #boycottkerala," Sabu, known for hosting Mazhavil Manorama's "Take It Easy" programme, posted on his Facebook page on 9 September.
However, the status message became controversial; it all started after a Facebook user (Arjun Raj) posted a photo of Mohanlal with his pet dog in the comments section.
The TV host was quick to respond to it but came under fire later for directly insulting the "Loham" actor as well as his father.
Mohanlal fans were prompt in their reaction to react on the controversial post and Sabu was forced to deactivate his Facebook account, but the screenshots of the post have been doing the rounds on social media.
Sabu was slammed earlier also by many netizens for criticising popular playback singer Rimi Tomy through his Facebook post.
