Disappointment lies ahead for the fans of Suriya as the release of his much-awaited movie S3 aka Singam 3 has been postponed again. The movie has now reportedly been pushed to an undisclosed date in January 2017.
Rumours emerging from reliable sources say that the makers of S3 have come to believe that the time is not apt for the release of a biggie like S3. People of Tamil Nadu are yet to recover from the demise of former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa and they have been hit by deadly Cyclone Vardah, which created havoc in Chennai resulting in losses of huge amount and also took 18 lives.
Apart from these two major reasons, the demonetisation effect is also being taken into account by the makers, say reports. It is said that the people's priority is not cinema at this stage and releasing a biggie like S3 is not a good idea. Hence, the makers are set to delay the release.
The buzz is that S3 is most likely to be released on January 26. The makers would have wanted to release the movie for Pongal festival, but Vijay's Bairavaa is releasing on January 12 and the makers do not want to clash with the Ilayathalapathy-starrer as it will affect the business of both the films.
However, the makers are yet to formally announce the news and it is expected to be out shortly. It may be recalled that S3 was originally planned for a December 16 release.
S3 is an action thriller written and directed by Hari. The KE Gnanavelraja-produced film has Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan in the leads. It is the third instalment in the Singam franchise.
