Starting off the wonderfully exciting matchplay contest between the cream of Europe, the defending champions after that exciting victory at Medinah, and USA's best will be the fourballs on Friday morning, with the two captains throwing out some interesting partnerships.
The world's best golfer at the moment – Rory McIlroy – will not play with his usual partner in Graeme McDowell, with the Northern Irishman set to form an exciting team with Sergio Garcia.
"It's great to be back at the Ryder Cup as I've had two goes at it already, and two great experiences in Wales and obviously last time at Medinah, with that come back and how everything unfolded on the Sunday," McIlroy, on a high with Major success this year, was quoted as saying by the Ryder Cup's official website.
"So I'm excited to be here and it's been great to get back into the team room and just have fun with the guys and catch up, and we are all looking forward to a great week.
McIlroy and Garcia will play the final fourballs event in the morning, and it will be one outstanding contest with Phil Mickelson, the US team's most experienced player, and Keegan Bradley, with the USA duo enjoying plenty of success in the last Ryder Cup in Medinah.

Teeing off first will be Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson vs Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson, and you know whenever Watson is on the golf course, there will be some excitement.
"I'm delighted to play a home Ryder Cup," said Rose. "That was definitely the goal that I set out a couple years ago. I'm really excited. Knowing that in the palm of your hand, let's say with a putter, you have the ability to light up a crowd in a situation, and that's exhilarating, obviously I can't wait to feel and experience that.
"But my goal is just to create those opportunities, to sort of put my game in a position and put my golf ball in a position where I can make that happen. I have to focus on my game rather than the environment, but I can't wait to sense the environment after playing well."
All eyes will, though, be on the final fourballs with Mickelson vs McIlroy a particularly tasty battle.
"I would like to improve my record," said Mickelson, who has a 14-18-16 record in the Ryder Cup. "That's certainly a goal. It doesn't take much to improve my winning percentage, I'll say that.
"But I've got a good partner that obviously I'm going to play again with Keegan," added the "leftie" who will be playing his 10th straight Ryder Cup, a record for an American. "I don't think I'm letting go of any secrets here.
"If you've noticed, we've played together these first few rounds and we seem to have a good partnership, and he brings out some of my best golf and I'm very optimistic that I can improve on my record. But again, we're taking on some very strong -- a very strong team on their home soil. It's going to be a challenge. But I'd like to improve my record."
