This year has proved to be lucky for Bollywood's Khiladi Akshay Kumar. While last year the actor missed the Rs. 100-crore mark despite four big releases, this year Akshay is set for a hat-trick with "Airlift," "Housefull 3" and "Rustom."
Akshay Kumar is on a roll this year with three big releases – "Airlift," "Housefull 3" and "Rustom." While "Airlift" and "Housefull 3" have already made a mark with their respective box office collection, Akshay is confident that his next release "Rustom" will also emerge as a big hit.
Akshay is ruling the box office with back-to-back success. The actor is on top of the box office collection list this year with "Airlift," which earned Rs. 128.1 crore and "Housefull 3," which has minted Rs. 80.10 crore in the first week and is all set to earn over Rs. 100 crore.
When the actor was asked about his third release "Rustom" and if it will hit the century club, Akshay replied that he is positive about the film crossing Rs. 100 crore mark.
"I hope even Rustom does Rs 100 crore at the Box-Office. We have made a good film and I hope people like it. With the kind of product that we have made, I think it will be a hat-trick of Rs 100 crore films for me this year," Akshay said during the success meet of "Housefull 3."
"Rustom" will be released in exact two months, but the film has already started generating positive buzz. The film, directed by Tinu Suresh Desai, is based on the Nanavati murder case and Akshay plays the role of a Navy Officer.
The actor is confident about the film becoming a big success at the box office. But its clash with another big ticket – Hrithik Roshan's "Mohenjo Daro" – might affect its box office collection. "Rustom" and "Mohenjo Daro" are slated to be released on Aug. 12.
