Akshay Kumar working with Divya Khosla was news dismissed by the latter. However, it has now come to light that the superstar is doing the film after all and will kick-start the first schedule soon.
According to a SpotboyE report, Akshay didn't take much time to accept the offer and has apparently given his word that he will begin shooting for it sometime between mid to late September.
This update comes weeks after Divya's spokesperson denied having approached the actor for her next. "There is no truth to this. Divya is currently on a much needed break and has not signed any actor for her next film. Divya is presently in the development process for her next film and discussions on casting are still some time away," the statement read.
What was also reported was the actor's fee for the film. Apparently, he had been signed on for a whopping Rs. 56 crore.
In other news, Akshay is busy promoting his upcoming film "Rustom," which releases on Aug.12, same day as Hrithik Roshan's "Mohenjo Daro." Loosely based on the infamous Nanavati case of 1959, the crime-thriller is the star's third film of the year after "Airlift" and "Housefull 3."
He has also begun Subhash Kapoor's "Jolly LLB 2," a court-drama that had Arshad Warsi in the lead earlier. Akshay is particularly excited about this project because it's his first as an onscreen lawyer.
"Jolly LLB 2 is a nice script and I quite liked it. I really liked the directors' (Subhash Kapoor) work and I have never played a lawyer's role ever. It is something that I am going to enjoy," Akshay told Catch News.
