Akshay Kumar and Neeraj Pandey have done three films so far and are set to come together for a fourth one.
To be produced by the filmmaker, the film will star the "Rustom" actor in a short and significant role. "Akshay loved the role and immediately said 'yes,'" SpotboyE quoted a source as saying.
The project is to be helmed by Shivam Nair with Taapsee Pannu in the lead. The yet to be titled film will roll in August and the makers are hoping to wrap it up by later this year.
Meanwhile, Akshay is juggling a few projects. He has portions of "2.0" to finish, the sci-fi thriller in which he plays a mad scientist who turns into an evil crow after a lab experiment goes wrong. He will also begin "Jolly LLB 2" in the coming months and later "Namastey England."
For now, the superstar is busy promoting Tinu Suresh Desai's "Rustom." In this one, he experiments with a character he has not played earlier. Loosely based on the infamous Nanavati case of 1959, in which a naval officer was tried for killing his wife's lover, the crime-thriller also stars Ileana D'cruz and Esha Gupta in key roles.
"The complexity of the life of a sailor/officer who leaves behind his family for months, travelling in submarines, aircraft carriers, ships, boats, and his life on water are what made me sign up for this film. There is romance between the couple, and yet, there is a void. There are thrills and the drama that unfolds makes this film rather intriguing," the Hindu quoted Akshay as saying.
The story of Rustom Pavri unfolds on Aug. 12, same day as Sarman's (Hrithik Roshan) "Mohenjo Daro" does.
