With "Rustom," Akshay Kumar has achieved a feat that the reigning Khans of Bollywood — Shah Rukh, Salman, Aamir — are yet to experience.
The box office collections of Akshay's 108 films add up to an impressive total; the superstar's films have grossed Rs. 3,010 crore, Catch News reported. Salman is not too far behind — Rs. 2,928 crore from 71 films — and is likely to outshine Akshay when "Tubelight" arrives in theatres on Eid next year.
Films of Shah Rukh and Aamir have so far collected Rs. 2,100 crore (57 films) and Rs. 1,497 crore (39 films), respectively. While Salman may not face too much trouble breaking Akshay's records, SRK and Aamir are a few films behind and will take time putting up score of this kind.
What are Akshay's next releases?
"Toilet: Ek Prem Katha," "Crack," "Jolly LLB 2," and "2.0" are films that will open in theatres in 2017.
The superstar will begin shooting for the remaining portions of sci-fi thriller "2.0" in September and simultaneously work on "Jolly LLB 2," in which he plays a lawyer, a role he has never essayed on celluloid. He will then kick-start "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha" and later "Crack."
Meanwhile, here are the films Akshay isn't a part of: "I have no idea about 'Hera Pheri 3' and 'Awara Paagal Deewana 2.' I am not a part of either of the two films. Even Baby 2 with Neeraj Pandey is not happening as yet."
"Ikka," "Oh My God 2" and "Welcome 3" are some of the other projects that are yet to be officially announced.
