Akshay Kumar's "Rustom" is running in its 4th week and its box office collection has slowed down substantially. The film's 25 days collection is out and its current pace at Indian box office suggests that "Rustom" will not be able to break the lifetime record of "Airlift."
The crime thriller had taken its domestic collection to Rs. 124.72 crore nett by the end of its 3rd week and it witnessed a massive fall in its earnings in the 4th week. "Rustom" has collected Rs. 126.38 crore nett at the domestic market in 25 days.
Revealing the day-wise break up, Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Rustom [Week 4] Fri 31 lacs, Sat 47 lacs, Sun 59 lacs, Mon 29 lacs. Total: 126.38 cr. India biz. SUPER HIT! [sic]." On the other hand, the lifetime collection of "Airlift" stands at Rs. 128.1 crore. Thus, Akshay's "Rustom" is still Rs. 1.72 crore behind the lifetime domestic earnings of "Airlift."
Even though Monday was a holiday, "Rustom" could collect just Rs. 29 lakh at the Indian box office, and it is very unlikely that the Tinu Suresh Desai directorial would cross the lifetime collection of "Airlift."
Also, Sidharth Malhotra and Katrina Kaif starrer "Baar Baar Dekho" will release on Sept. 9, which will probably make it more difficult for "Rustom" to beat "Airlift" and become the second highest grossing movie of Akshay.
Meanwhile, "Rustom" has also been doing well at the overseas market. The film has collected Rs. 39.24 crore at the international market by the end of its 4th weekend, taking its worldwide earnings to Rs. 165.62 crore.
"#Rustom â€" OVERSEAS â€" Total till weekend 4: $ 5,901,504 [39.24 cr]. SUPER...Best in UAE-GCC, USA-Canada and Pakistan. [sic]," Taran Adarsh tweeted.
