The withdrawal of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes in India has affected normal life of many, with filmmakers in the country postponing the release date of a few upcoming movies. Two Malayalam movies, which were scheduled to hit screens this week, have been postponed to the next week owing to the rupee ruckus in the country.
Actor-turned-director Nadhirshah's second directorial venture Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan, which was expected to hit screens on November 11, has been postponed. "Due to the financial issues all over the country, we have decided to postpone the release date of Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan to November 18," Roshan Chitoor, the production executive of the comedy entertainer, confirmed to International Business Times India.
Meanwhile, the makers of Dhyan Sreenivasan's Ore Mukham have also moved the release date of the campus crime thriller to next week due to the same reason.
Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan, which is the production venture of actor Dileep, narrates the story of a village man, who dreams on becoming a successful star. Vishnu Unnikrishnan, who has scripted the movie along with Bibin George, plays the lead role in the comedy entertainer, which has already started getting the attention of the Kerala audience. With the release of its official trailer in October, it became one of the top trending topics on social media and one of top seven trending videos on YouTube, interestingly because it has the name of Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan on the movie's title.
The Nadhirshah directorial is one of the much awaited comedy entertainers in Malayalam as the filmmaker's debut movie Amar Akbar Anthony opened to fabulous response from the movie-goers.
