A time-lapse video has been released showing the transformation of Londons Olympic Stadium ahead of the venue hosting five matches in the upcoming Rugby World Cup.
The footage, taken on behalf of England Rugby 2015, shows how the field and seating have been expanded to convert the athletics field and track to a rugby stadium accommodating 54,000 spectators.
The first test of the pitch will be the Rugby World Cup warm-up match between the Barbarians and Samoa on Saturday 29 August.
The Olympic Stadium will host five Rugby World Cup matches – four pool stage matches and the Bronze final on October 30.
From the 2016-17 season the Olympic Stadium will become the permanent home of Premier League team of West Ham United. The venue will also continue to host other events, including the World Athletics Championships in 2017.
The 2015 Rugby World Cup will take place throughout England and Wales from 18 September to 31 October. The opening match between England and Fiji takes place at Twickenham.
