Telugu film industry is gearing up to treat its audience this summer with some big-ticket movies such as "Rudramadevi", "S/o Satya Moorti", "Kick 2" and "Baahubali".
"Rudramadevi" is touted as the first Indian 3D historic film. It is based on the life of Rudrama Devi, the 13th century revered Telugu queen of Kakatiya dynasty. Anushka Shetty is playing the title role, while Allu Arjun, Krishnam Raju, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Adithya Menon, Nithya Menon, Baba Sehgal and Catherine Tresa appear in important roles.
Directed by Gunasekhar, Rudramadevi will be made and released in Telugu and Tamil. The movie, which has a whopping budget of ₹50 crore, has already completed production and is now in post- production stage. It is scheduled to release on 27 March.
"Baahubali" is another highly-awaited Telugu film that has been creating positive buzz ever since SS Rajamouli announced. Made on budget of ₹175 crore, the movie is being released in two parts. The first part of the movie was earlier slated to release on 17 April, but has been postponed due to delay in its post-production work.
Directed by SS Rajamouli, "Baahubali" features an ensemble cast of Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, Nassar, Adivi Sesh, Tanikella Bharani and Sudeep. The makers are yet to reveal the new release date. But if we are to go by the buzz, the movie is likely to release in the last week of May or first week of June.
"S/o Satya Moorti", which has been written and directed by Trivikram Srinivas, will be made and released in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The film starring Allu Arjun, Upendra, Samantha, Adah Sharma, Sneha and Nithya Menen in leads happens to be the last film of MS Narayana, who passed away on 23 January. It is gearing up to release in theatres worldwide in April.
"Kick 2" is the sequel to the 2009 hit Telugu film "Kick". Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja has once again joined hands with director Surender Reddy for it after the huge success of their first combo film.
Produced by Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, the movie has Vakkantham Vamsi's story. Launched on 20 August 2014, the film is scheduled for worldwide release on 28 May 2015.
