In an attempt to gain a competitive edge over its rivals, Micromax's online-only sub-brand YU Televentures slashed the price of its newly-launched Yureka Plus. The budget device will go on sale with its discounted price of Rs. 8,999 on Thursday, 6 August, exclusively via Amazon India. It is Rs. 1,000 cheaper than its regular price now. The anticipated flash sale will commence at 12 pm for registered customers only.
Prospective buyers cannot register for Thursday's flash sale anymore as the online retailer closed the registration window on Tuesday midnight. YU launched the Lenovo K3 Note rival, Yureka Plus, last month and it has attracted a large number of buyers with its striking specs at such low price. By dropping the cost further, Yureka Plus has a better chance against its budget-category rivals.
It is unclear as to how many units of Yureka Plus will be stocked for the upcoming sale, but the handset is expected to run out of stock in a flash. At Rs. 8,999, Yureka Plus offers a 5.5-inch full HD display with oleophobic coating to prevent fingerprint marks on the Gorilla Glass 3 shield. Yureka Plus is powered by a Snapdragon 615 Octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt memory with microSD card support.
YU also adds a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and a 5MP front snapper along with a 2,500mAh battery, dual SIM support, 4G LTE and Cyanogen OS 12 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop in Yureka Plus.
The buyers can choose from Moonstone Grey & Alabaster White colour options.
YU announced the price cut on its already-affordable Yureka Plus on Monday. Interested customers who had registered before Monday for the 6 August flash sale need not register again to get the handset at its discounted price. But, demand for the Yureka Plus appears to be higher so buyers are advised to login a few minutes before the sale commences.
