For the fifth time in a row, Micromax will sell its ultra-cheap Canvas Xpress 2 to registered customers on Flipkart. The Canvas Xpress 2 underscored the great importance of budget smartphones in India and continues to make an appeal to the budget-conscious lot. The affordable handset will be available for purchase in its weekly flash sale tomorrow, 1 September at 12 noon.
As expected, the sale will open only for registered buyers. If you are interested in the device, it is important to register with your email address on Flipkart before midnight today (31 August). Registrations do not guarantee a device but only serve as a gate pass to participate in the flash sale. The Canvas Xpress 2 will be available on first-come first-serve basis.
The Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 is touted as the cheapest smartphone with octa-core processor. It is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB expandable storage. The handset boasts of a 5-inch HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and Native Damage Resistance for added protection.
The Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 features a 13-megapixe rear-facing camera with dual LED flash and 2MP front snapper. It runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat but can be upgraded to Android 5.1 Lollipop. There's a 2,500mAh battery to make good on a promise to run 9 hours talk time.
In order to make a stronger appeal, the Canvas Xpress 2 packs some unique features such as an integrated Cirrus Wolfson Stereo DAC, gesture support like pinch in, pinch out and double finger swipe to quickly access favourite apps.
