Micromax launched the Canvas Xpress 2 in July and sold the device in great numbers. According to the company, 150,000 units of Canvas Xpress 2 have been sold so far, which is impressive considering the handset was available once a week. Ever since the launch, Canvas Xpress 2 has attracted a vast audience with its impressive specs. It is touted as the "most affordable octa-core smartphone" in India. It is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core MediaTek (MT6592M) processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and offers 8GB expandable memory up to 32GB.
Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 has a 5-inch HD display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and Native Damage Resistance for added protection. The Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 sports a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual LED flash, OV sensor and 5P Largan Lens for 1080p video recording and 2MP front snapper.
The Canvas Xpress 2 is powered by a 2,500mAh battery that delivers up to 9 hours of talk time and runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat, which can be upgraded to Android 5.1 Lollipop through software update. In addition, the Canvas Xpress 2 packs some unique features such as an integrated Cirrus Wolfson Stereo DAC, gesture support like pinch in, pinch out and double finger swipe to quickly access favourite apps.
