Much to the delight of candidates eagerly waiting for months, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) declared the results of Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) exam 2016 for Thiruvananthapuram region on Thursday. But their excitement was shortlived as the results were withdrawn soon.
The RRB NTPC results 2016 for Thiruvananthapuram region was put up on rrbthiruvananthapuram.gov.in on Thursday evening, but it was withdrawn later. The website clarified that "a draft of the result data was temporarily uploaded only to test the updated website. Final result will be uploaded shortly."

The RRB hasn't announced when the much-anticipated NTPC results will be declared, but said it would happen soon. When declared, the RRB NTPC results 2016 can be checked on Indian Railways' official website indianrailways.gov.in and 21 official RRB zone and regional sites.
The RRB NTPC preliminary examination 2016 was conducted between March 3 and May 6 this year. About 93 lakh candidates applied for the exam, out of which 57 lakh actually wrote it. As many as 2,73,780 candidates will qualify for the mains examination and 18,252 will be finally recruited.
Qualified candidates will be recruited to several posts -- Commercial Apprentice (CA) - 703, Traffic Apprentice (TA) - 1645, Enquiry-cum-Reservation Clerk (ECRC) - 127, Goods Guard - 7591, Senior Clerk-cum-Typist - 869, Junior Accounts Assistant-cum-Typist (JAA) - 1205, Assistant Station Master (ASM) - 5942, Traffic Assistant – 166, and Senior Time Keeper – 4.
