The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is expected to declare the RRB Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) 2016 exam results this week.
Anil Kumar Saxena, Additional Director General (PR), Railways Board, has revealed that the NTPC preliminary (first stage) 2016 examination results will be declared in the first fortnight of October. It has been reported that the results will be announced on October 15, but there is no confirmation so far.
The RRB NTPC first stage examination was conducted from March 3 to May 6 at 21 centres. About 93 lakh candidates applied for the exam, but only around 56 lakh appeared for it.
A total of 2,73,780 candidates will qualify for the mains examination expected to be held in November or December. RRB will announce the date in October.
The RRB will declare the NTPC 2016 exam results on the Indian Railways website indianrailways.gov.in besides publishing in 21 official RRB zone and regional websites. Those who clear the preliminary exam will appear for the mains before facing skill test, aptitude test and document verification.
Candidates for junior accounts assistant, senior clerk and senior time keeper posts will take up typing skill test, while those applying for assistant station master and traffic assistant posts will have to write aptitude test.
Successful candidates will be recruited for the posts of commercial apprentice (CA), traffic apprentice (TA), enquiry-cum-reservation clerk (ECRC), goods guard, senior clerk-cum-typist, junior accounts assistant-cum-typist (JAA), assistant station master (ASM), traffic assistant and senior time keeper.
A total of 18,272 candidates will be selected for various posts in the Indian Railways after the final stage of the recruitment process.
