The body of Indian-born Nurse, Jacintha Saldanha's, who reportedly killed herself following a hoax call from two Australian radio hosts asking for details on Kate Middleton last week, will arrive in India on Sunday after a memorial mass in London.
According to reports, the body will be brought to Mangalore, where Saldanha's mother resides with a daughter and son.
The Mangalore police said that the body will be accompanied by Saldanha's husband Benedict Barboza, son Junal and daughter Lisha.
The funeral ceremony is expected to take place on Monday near Shirva town, a coastal town 50 kms away from Mangalore.
Rev William Menezes , spokesman for the Diocese of Mangalore, said that the funeral will be held at 4:00pm (10:30 GMT) on Monday, reported AFP.
"The coffin will be kept in Mangalore for the night at a mortuary or a place the family will decide," IANS quoted Udupi Superintendent of Police M. Boralingaiah.
Around 5,000 people are expected to attend the last rites for which high security arrangements are put in place in Mangalore and at Shivra.
Saldanha's husband and children had attended the service at Westminster Cathedral. In a heartfelt tribute Barboza said, "Nineteen years of togetherness with a strong bond of affection and understanding will be cherished forever in my life." BBC quoted him as saying. "Your loss is a very painful one and nobody can take that place in my life ever again. I love you and miss you forever" he added.
Saldanha, 46, was found dead in the staff apartment at King Edward VII Hospital on Dec 7 after she was reportedly duped in giving private details of Middleton to the Australian radio hosts. In one of the three suicide notes found, Saldanha criticized her colleagues for their treatment towards her. Hospital authorities claimed they had assured her numerous times that no disciplinary action would be taken for having been unwittingly involved in the prank call.
It was said that death threats were made against Australian DJ's, Michael Christian and Mel Greig of 2Day FM radio station. Earlier this week, the radio hosts issued apologies and revealed their heartbreak over the incident.
