Iconic motorbike-maker Royal Enfield is set to reveal the pricing of the new adventure tourer Himalayan in India Wednesday.
The Himalayan, which was unveiled in the country Feb. 2, is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 1.65 lakh to Rs 1.85 lakh. IndianAutosBlog has shared the pictures of the Himalayan, which seems to have been taken at a dealership of the company. The company is expected to start the delivery of the Himalayan immediately after the launch.
For the uninitiated, the Himalayan, Royal Enfield's attempt to set a foothold in the uncharted territory of the adventure motorcycles, will be positioned below the Classic 500 and the Continental GT. In terms of dimensions, the Himalayan measures 2,190mm in length, 840mm in width, and 1,360mm in height (fly-screen top). It has a wheelbase of 1,465mm and offers a ground clearance of 220mm.
Powering the Royal Enfield Himalayan is an all-new 411-cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine that is tuned to deliver 24.5bhp at 6,500rpm and 32Nm torque at 4,000rpm to 4,500rpm, paired with five-speed transmission.
The new adventure tourer comes with 41-mm front forks and a monoshock at the rear, and rides on a 21-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. Stopping power comes from a 300-mm disc brake at the front and a 240-mm disc brake at the rear and features semi-digital instrumentation cluster with an analogue speedo and tacho and a digital tripmeter. The motorcycle's instrument cluster also features an altimeter.
