Royal Enfield motorcycle sales grew 36 percent to 50,682 units in June 2016 as against 37,341 vehicles sold in June 2015. Eicher Motors Ltd., which manufactures Royal Enfield motorcycles, said that exports rose 118 percent to 1,622 units from 744 in June 2015. TVS Motor Co. reported 7 percent increase in domestic two wheeler sales.

In a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Friday, Eicher Motors said cumulative domestic sales of Royal Enfield motorcycles increased 38 percent to 1,47,483 units in the three month period ended June 2016 from 1,06,613 units in the year-ago period.
In May this year, sales of the motorcycle witnessed a similar growth rate, with Eicher Motors selling 48,604 units, up 36 percent when compared to 35,354 units in May 2015. Exports had gone up 86 percent to 1,372 units.
Shares of Eicher Motors were trading at Rs. 19,248.90 apiece on the BSE at around 3.07 p.m., almost flat from their previous close.
TVS Motor Co
The Chennai-based company sold 206,784 two wheelers (scooters and motorcycles) in June 2016, up 16.4 percent from 177,687 units sold in June last year. Export of two wheelers rose to 33,173 units from 33,233 units in June 2015.
Other two-wheeler makers, such as Hero Motocorp, Suzuki Motors and Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, are yet to declare their June volume sales data.
