It's been a while since we last heard anything about the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan. The model is back in the news, this time through a fresh batch of spy shots from Tamil Nadu, thanks to Motoroids.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan tourer, the next offering of the bike maker, is expected to make its India debut during the Auto Expo 2016. Judging by the latest images, the Royal Enfield Himalayan looks production-ready, hinting that the motorcycle is in the final stages of test runs. In the image, what is apparent is the LED taillight of the model with illumination points.
Powering the new Royal Enfield Himalayan is apparently an all-new single-cylinder, 410cc engine that is expected to make around 30bhp and 35Nm of torque. From what we hear, there will be two variants of the Himalayan on offer - an adventure tourer and a street focused version. The Himalayan is expected to get upswept exhaust, fatter rear tyre and a petrol tank similar to the Continental GT.
To be positioned below the Classic 500 and the Continental GT, Royal Enfield Himalayan is likely to get a price tag in the range of Rs 1.65 lakh to Rs 1.85 lakh.
