Royal Enfield may finally unveil on 2 February its Himalayan adventure motorcycle that has seen testing many times in 2015.
The Himalyan is the first adventure motorcycle from the Chennai-based manufacturer. The motorcycle will be powered by an all-new single-cylinder oil-cooled 410cc engine that is expected to make around 30bhp and 35Nm. The two-wheeler is expected to be available in two variants - Urban and Off-road. The Urban variant would sport alloy wheels while the Off-road version would come with spoke wheels, windshield and mounts for panniers.
Previous spy pictures showed the motorcycle's suspension, engine, wheels and the front forks are in black colour. The Himalayan will come with signature round shaped headlamp. It features a sliver finished sump guard, an upswept exhaust, fatter rear tyre and a petrol tank similar to the Continental GT. The model is expected to get new instrument cluster with a compass and altitude meter with digital display.
Royal Enfield may price the motorcycle in the range of Rs 1.65 lakh to Rs 1.85 lakh. The Himalayan will be positioned below the Classic 500 and the Continental GT.
