As the highly anticipated adventure tourer Himalayan from the house of Royal Enfield nears its launch in the country, more details about its availability have started coming out. The latest buzz on the web is the Himalayan will be available for test rides at dealer showrooms of the company from next month.
A report of Rushlane claims prospective buyers will be able to test-ride the new Himalayan from March. It is slated to go on sale in the third week of March. Royal Enfield Himalayan is currently on a multi-city tour across the country to engage with customers ahead of its arrival in the market. As part of the roadshow, the Himalayan will be showcased in cities like Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata and Noida.
Recently, a new set of the Himalayan's spy shots has emerged online, showing the adventure motorcycle arriving at dealers of the company. To be positioned below the Classic 500 and the Continental GT, Royal Enfield Himalayan is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 1.65 lakh to Rs 1.85 lakh.
The Himalayan will be powered by an all-new 411-cc oil-cooled single-cylinder engine tuned to deliver 24.5bhp at 6,500rpm and 32Nm torque at 4,000rpm and 4,500rpm, paired with five-speed transmission.
In terms of dimensions, the Himalayan measures 2,190mm in length, 840mm in width, and 1,360mm in height (fly screen top). It has a wheelbase of 1,465mm and offers a ground clearance of 220mm.
