Londoners paused on Monday (4 May), as the sound of cannon-fire rang out across the city in celebration of the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridges daughter.
Soldiers from the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery fired 41 shots in Hyde Park. At the same time, the Honourable Artillery Company fired a 62-gun salute at the Tower of London.
The new princess, named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, was born on Saturday (2 May) at 7.34am at Londons St Marys Hospital.
