The advance booking ticket counter for Arjun Rampal, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranbir Kapoor starrer "Roy" opened to an overwhelming response on Monday.
"Roy" is one of the much awaited movies of 2015 as it features Ranbir in an important role. He will be seen on silver screen after a gap of one year. His last film "Besharam", released in October 2013, had turned out to be a disaster at the box office.
After that he did cameos in "Bhoothnath Returns" and "PK", but in "Roy" he will be seen in a full-fledged role.
"Roy", directed by debutant Vikramjit Singh, tells the story of a thief (Ranbir) and two filmmakers, played by Arjun and Jacqueline.
The overall buzz surrounding the film is positive, so far. The trailer got good response upon its release and also the songs, especially "Sooraj Dooba" and "Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan" have topped the chartbusters.
The romantic thriller also received a good response at the pre-booking ticket counter. The advance booking window opened in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune and other circuits, and the response is humongous.
In Mumbai, the opening day tickets at several theatres have been sold out completely within 48 hours. In Pune and Bangalore also the response is positive.
The occupancy is low in morning shows, but afternoon and evening shows tickets have got good response. Several online ticket booking portals show that seats are filling fast for the romantic thriller, which is releasing on 13 February.
The ticket sales are expected to grow further before the actual release date. Going by the two-day pre-booking status, one can say that the romantic thriller will take a bumper opening on day one.
