Telugu film industry has released six movies – "Rowdy Fellow", "Ice Cream 2", "Real Star", "33 Prema Kathalu", "Naa Bangaru Thalli" and "Rajyadhikaram" – last week. Among these, the Nara Rohit-Vishakha Singh starrer "Rowdy Fellow" is leading the race at the box office.
"Rowdy Fellow", which released in 450 screens worldwide on 21 November, opened to a fantastic response on Friday and showed decent growth on Saturday. The film has grossed approximately ₹3.5 crore at the worldwide box office in two days.
Ram Gopal Varma's "Ice Cream 2", the sequel to "Ice Cream", released in around 250 screens across the globe on Friday.
The JD Chakravarthy-Naveena starrer got decent response in the morning shows on its opening day, but negative word of mouth took a toll on its later shows. The poor response forced its makers to withdraw "Ice Cream 2" from many theatres on Saturday.
"#Icecream2 removed in a lot of screens today due to poor BO on 1st 2days. #loukyam #pooja #karthikeya re-released as fillers for 5days," AndhraBoxOffice tweeted.
Other new releases, "Real Star", "33 Prema Kathalu", "Naa Bangaru Thalli" and "Rajyadhikaram", are small-budget movies and were released in a limited number of cinema halls across the globe. Together, these films have collected more than ₹3 crore at the global box office in two days.
On the other hand, "Rowdy Fellow" has topped the Tollywood business chart. While last week's release, "Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham", landed in the second position, "Ice Cream 2" has graced the third spot. Earlier releases, including "Loukyam", "Pooja and "Karthikeya", have managed to remain in the top-10 list.
