Jayam Ravi starrer "Romeo Juliet" has got a great start at the Chennai box office. The Tamil movie beat Bollywood movies like "Dil Dhadakne Do" and "Tanu Weds Manu" in the city.
"Romeo Juliet" has raked in ₹72.76 lakh from 159 shows in the opening weekend in Chennai, reports Behindwoods. Indeed, the film became the highest earning movie in the last weekend in the capital of Tamil Nadu. Hollywood film "Jurassic World" is in the second position by earning ₹65.75 lakh from 168 shows.
Santhanam starrer "Inimey Ippadithaan" is in the third position by earning ₹44.65 lakh from 141 shows. Surprisingly, previous week's release "Kaaka Muttai" has shown growth as the movie earned ₹36.45 lakh from 150 shows. The total collection of the flick in Chennai by the end of its second week is ₹1.15 crore.
And, the business of other recent movies like Suriya's "Masss", horror flick "Demonte Colony" and Bollywood films "Dil Dhadakne Do" and "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" have completely slowed down.
"Demonte Colony" collected ₹6.11 lakh from 42 show to take its total tally to ₹2.12 crore by the end of its fourth week. "Masss" had 36 shows in its third weekend and surprisingly, the business has seen a huge dip as the film made only ₹5.34 lakh to take its total tally to ₹4.09 crore.
Bollywood movie "Dil Dhadakne Do" made ₹3.60 lakh from 27 shows at the Chennai box office. The total collection of the film by the end of its second week stands at ₹47.14 lakh. It is followed by "Tanu Weds Manu", which made ₹1.86 lakh from 15 shows. The Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut starrer has raked in ₹51.40 lakh so far in the capital city of Tamil Nadu.

The romantic comedy film, starring Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani, has made ₹6.5 crore at Tamil Nadu box office in its first weekend.
