British car maker Rolls-Royce on Monday launched its most powerful luxury coupe in India for a whopping ₹4.6 crore (ex showroom Delhi).
Rolls-Royce Wraith, the most powerful and dynamic car from the luxury auto maker, packs a twin-turbo V12 engine which delivers 624 bhp power and 800 Nm torque. The engine is mated with 8-speed automatic ZF transmission and the vehicle accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.4 seconds.
"Rolls-Royce has enjoyed a great and lengthy history in India, and we are happy to greet our customers here with this exceptional new model," said Herfried Hasenoehrl, General Manager for Emerging Markets-Asia, Rolls-Royce.
The car, which made its first appearance at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March, has received rave reviews from across the globe and Rolls-Royce hopes to see the the same response in India. According to the company, the first car will be delivered by the end of this year to the country.
The Rolls-Royce Wraith has borrowed many features from the Ghost model .The vehicle measures 5200mm in length and rides on a wheelbase of about 180mm shorter than that of the iconic four-door Ghost. It packs many stylish and elegant features like the Satellite Aided Transmission (SAT) technology which provides ease while driving. Wraith is the first vehicle from Rolls-Royce to feature SAT.
Rolls-Royce had first used the brand 'Wraith' in 1938 and now resurrected the name with the new model. The car will be brought as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) to India. The company which is looking to expand its visibility in the country also kick-started a three month India tour with Rolls-Royce cars starting from Delhi.
