Popular director Rohit Shetty, who teamed up with superstar Shah Rukh Khan to deliver last year's massive hit "Chennai Express", has stated the actor is now like a part of the family to him.
Rohit, known for his masala flicks, is on a roll and is now hosting "Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi" season 5, where he would oversee contestants performing dangerous stunts.
The 40-year-old director said that after "Chennai Express", he shares a warm rapport with Shah Rukh.
Rohit refereed to the superstar as family in an interview to PTI. "No equations have changed for me after this film in the industry. It is just that I have made a great friend... a family member in Shah Rukh Khan," the director said.
The director further stated that working with the 48-year-old superstar was enlightening and a 'positive experience' for him. Rohit revealed that a future film with SRK is on the cards but asserted that the film would not be a sequel to "Chennai Express", akin to his "Golmaal" and "Singham" series films.
"We will do a film together. It will be that (masala entertainer) way only. We are just at planning stage at present, nothing is finalised... At present there are no plans of sequel as the story is not like that. 'Chennai Express' doesn't require it. But Shah Rukh Khan and I are definitely working together for a film," he pointed out.
Apart from hosting the action reality show, Rohit is gearing up for the sequel to "Singham", which has him reuniting with Ajay Devgn, the star of his other major blockbusters. The film will also star Kareena Kapoor in the female lead.
"Singham 2" tentative release date has been set for Independence Day this year.
