Rock On 2, scheduled for release on November 11, was believed to have been postponed until producer Ritesh Sidhwani quashed the possibility. The rumour claimed that the makers wanted to hold off on the release to escape the effect of the recently-imposed ban on currency notes.
"Wrong!" says producers Ritesh Sidhwani. "We are releasing on schedule this Friday," Sidhwani told SKJ Bollywood News, while a startled Shujaat Saudagar (director) said he has no idea where the rumours have come from.
Meanwhile co-producer and lead star of the sequel Farhan Akhtar wondered if there is a perfect time to release films because the makers can market their product as much as they like, it all boils down to one very important factor — whether the audience appreciates it or not.
"Finally it's not about how much you market your film. If intense marketing helped sell a film to the audience, every film would be a hit. I feel the public makes up its mind whether it wants to see a film or not early in the process of a film's marketing. If they've decided they want to see a film, nothing can stop them," he elaborated.
Meanwhile, here's how the lead cast transformed into a real rock band on the sets:
While shooting for the first film, the actors would have whisky and momos for breakfast. Akhtar began missing the vibe and suggested co-actor Arjun Rampal that they should be behaving like a real band.
"He banged open my door and Farhan said mazaa nahi aa raha yaar. We were then having whisky and momos for breakfast and we were really a rock band. Farhan got us into character," Rampal told the Indian Express.
Rock On 2 features Shraddha Kapoor, Prachi Desai, Purab Kohli, Shashank Arora and Shahana Goswami in key roles.
