Paytm, PVR, Justtickets and Cinepolis are giving interesting offers for advance ticket booking for Farhan Akhtar's Rock On 2. These offers are meant to support denomination of currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000.
Rock On 2, a sequel to the 2008 film Rock On, is a musical drama starring Shraddha Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Purab Kohli, Shashank Arora, and Prachi Desai. The movie is scheduled to be released in theatres across India on November 11. But the latest development has created a fear about its prospects at the box office.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes to fight corruption, black money and fake currency notes. Following his orders, all theatres stopped accepting these currency notes, which has landed audience in problems. Paytm, PVR, BookmyShow, Justtickets have come with some offers to woo the audience.
The stars of Rock On 2 are all thrilled over these offers and could not stop thanking these companies. The elated Arjun Rampal tweeted: "We know it's tuff,so we find solutions #RockOn2 on justickets.in get upto 2 tickets free.Ek Ka Teen offer on Justickets wallet."
Farhan Akhtar tweeted: "In response to the decomissioning of Rs 500/1000 notes, PVR Cinemas has decided not to charge the convenience fee, when you use your credit/debit card for purchasing your 'Rock On 2' tickets at PVRcinemas.com or on the PVR app. Thank you to the PVR team for recognising the issue and making it easy and efficient for the audience to enjoy our film 'Rock On 2' at no extra cost."
The bosses of Cinepolis India also announced its discount offer on Rock On 2 tickets on its official Twitter handle. They wrote: "In bid to promote government initiative, @IndiaCinepolis is offering 30% discount on #RockOn2 movie. Book Rock On 2 tickets from cinepolisindia.com only. #RockOn2 #cashcleanup."
Ritesh Sidhwani, who has produced Rock On 2 with Farhan Akhtar, tweeted: "Paytm joins in to make it easier for movie goers this week log on." A statement of the Paytm app confirms that the offer. "Book two tickets and get 100% cashback on the price of one ticket (maximum cashback upto Rs 150)," reads the statement.
Arjun Rampal tweeted: "Paytm goes one step further to enable you, the audience, to view #RockOn2 without stressing about currency denominations.
