Rithvik Dhanjani, who is one of the popular faces of television industry, is set to play the lead in a new web series. The yet-to-be titled web series will be set in the backdrop of a big fat Indian wedding. It is a comedy show and promises to be a visual delight to the viewers.
The web series will revolve around a crazy bachelors trip gone horribly wrong, the Times of India reported. Three best friends including the groom-to-be jet off to a scenic destination abroad but things doesn't go as per plan. During the trip, the groom-to-be's encounter with a beautiful stranger makes him understand the meaning of love and friendship.
Rithvik, along with Srman Jain and another actor, will soon start shooting for the web series, which will be launched in early 2017.
"I am super excited about the show and look forward to working with SonyLIVand Arré again on yet another interesting project. With digital entertainment destinations like these, there is scope to tell stories that have a new-age sensibility and which resonate with the young audiences. The story and the characters in the show are reflective of this mindset and I feel the audiences will be able to relate to it," Rithvik told the daily.
Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor, who is known as the czarina of Indian television industry, too is venturing into the digital platform. Ekta's production house Balaji Telefilms is set to produce a web series, which will be set in the backdrop of the Indian Army and will feature Nimrat Kaur in lead role.
