Mohit Suri, after the super success of his action thriller "Ek Villain", which is still dominating the box office, is planning to team up once again with the versatile actor Riteish Deshmukh, who played a serial killer in the film.
Deshmukh, who surprised the audience with his power-packed performance in "Ek Villain" starring Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor, is riding high on its success, with collections of over ₹100 crore in just two weeks. His performance in the film has made such an impact that film makers are queuing up to sign him in their flicks.
Suri, who is currently directing a love-triangle "Hamari Adhuri Kahani" starring Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi and Rajkummar Rao, is said to be in talks with Deshmukh for his next project. "Hamari Adhuri Kahani" is expected to be released in June 2015 and soon after makers wrap up their final shooting, Suri will go ahead with the said project. The movie will be based on a biopic, and is said to be produced by the "Humshakals" actor.
Deshmukh, within a short span has given Bollywood some blockbuster hits including "Housefull 2" and "Grand Masti", both of which crossed the ₹100 crore-mark and the actor's "Ek Villain" gave Dharma Productions' big-budget romantic flick "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" a run for its money.
The "Housefull" star even took Marathi cinema to another level with his recently released "Lai Bhaari", in which he debuted as a Marathi actor. With such versatile performances back-to-back, and his track record, the actor has left his fans craving for more.
"Riteish has been toying with the idea of a biopic for quite some time and discussed it with Mohit when they were shooting their last film. Mohit promised him then that they would take the idea forward. Now, the time has come for Mohit to honour that commitment," Mumbai Mirror quoted a source close to the industry.
The film will be featured in both languages - Hindi and Marathi and is expected to have Deshmukh playing the lead.
"When they met at Ekta Kapoor's party on Tuesday night, the subject came up again and the duo planned to meet in the coming week to work out the logistics of the project." the source added.
Though Suri has confirmed the project with Deshmukh, he chose not to reveal any further details, according to the report.
