The participants at the ongoing Gamescom 2015 were shown the daredevilry of Lara as a new trailer of Rise of the Tomb Raider makes a show at the annual gaming event. This game is the reboot of 2013's Tomb Raider video game.
The new video, shared by Microsoft and Crystal Dynamics, shows the intensity of the game and its protagonist – Lara Croft.
The video reveals the massiveness of the map, which is "three times larger than anything before." Base Camp is the place where Lara sharpens her skills and weapons. She can be customised according to the preference of the player and their playstyle.
This video shows how the game will factor in variety of stealth skills and Guerrilla style combat in order to take on her enemies. The ability to divert attention of enemies, ability to lock multiple targets and kill them in one shot, ability to climb trees, ability to use different types of weapons along with her skills in swimming were part of the short 6 minutes odd trailer.
The game will also have some puzzle-solving quests. The developer has called the stealth options in the game its new "guerrilla-style combat," and some of it can be seen in the new video. GameSpot reports that players can use stealth to complete "entire sections" or they can run into enemies with guns blazing. It also notes that the Enemy AI has been "tweaked ," and now players will see these AIs go after noises and take their time to investigate.
"Crystal Dynamics has built a highly active and expansive world, giving Lara multiple obstacles and multiple ways to solve them. We may be playing Lara's narrative, but how her narrative unfolds, and how she gets from point A to point B, and what skills she takes away from it are entirely up to you," says the report. The game will give players the freedom to take tactical decisions.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will be set in the Siberia Wilderness, where she ventures out in search of the secret to immortality but has to face its inhabitants – hostile humans, wildlife and environment. The game is a timed exclusively for Xbox One platform.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will be releasing on 10 November, 2015 to Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The PC release will be early 2016 and PS4 release is slated late 2016.
