Finally, ardent fans of Baahubali have the answer to the million dollar question "why Kattappa killed Baahubali?", after a long wait of almost two years. Baahubali: The Conclusion, the sequel of the blockbuster, Baahubali: The Beginning, has been performing well at box offices across the globe since its release on April 27.
The directorial venture of SS Rajamouli has also been making stupendous money at the Kerala box office breaking all the existing records of Mollywood movies.
Here's the list of records set by Baahubali 2 at Kerala box office:
The opening day collection of Baahubali 2 makes it the biggest first day grosser at the Kerala box office with a record earning of Rs 6.27 crore from a total of 320 screens from Kerala alone on April 28. The Prabhas-starrer has easily broken the record of Mammootty's The Great Father, which was till date the biggest first day grosser with a collection of Rs 4.31 crore.
Fastest 5 crore, Rs 10 crore, Rs 15 crore, Rs 20 crore movie
The magnum opus has also become the first movie to cross Rs 5 crore on the opening day itself, apart from becoming the fastest movie to join the Rs 10 crore, Rs 15 crore and Rs 20 crore clubs in Kerala. Baahubali 2 made a collection of Rs 6.41 crore and Rs 6.57 crore on day two and three, respectively, taking the total tally to Rs 19.25 crore within three days of its theatrical run. While the two day collection of Baahubali: The Beginning was just Rs 1.45 crore from Kerala, the sequel's two day earning is far more than the prequel with an approximate amount of Rs 12.68 crore.
Fast approaching 25 crore
Looking at the rush of the cine-goers, it is evident that Baahubali 2 will easily become the fastest movie to cross Rs 25 crore within six days at the Kerala box office.
Baahubali 2 collection at Kochi multiplexes
Due to the issues between the theatre owners and the distribution company, Global United Media, the big budget entertainer did not get morning shows at the multiplexes in Kochi. The shows commenced only at 4 pm and the movie had 100 percent theatre occupancy for all 45 shows except 1.
Meanwhile, Baahubali 2 has registered the best ever occupancy at Kochi multiplexes on its 4th day of theatrical run [99.84% theatre occupancy] and raked in Rs 21.50 lakhs to take its total collection to 80.72 lakh in four days. The movie is set to cross Rs 1 crore mark on the fifth day.
Record first day screen count
The movie, which stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishna, Sathya Raj and Naasar in main roles, has been released in as many as 320 screens including single screens and multiplexes on the first day itself.
Top other language grossers in Kerala
Baahubali 2 has become the biggest other language grosser in Kerala within four days of its run at Kerala box office, breaking the lifetime collection of Vikram's blockbuster I, which is said to have earned Rs 19.75 crore. Baahubali 2 is also the first other language movie hit in 2017 in the state.
Fastest Rs 1 crore and Rs 2 crore grosser at Kochi multiplexes
While Baahubali 2 earned over Rs 1 crore in five days, the Prabhas-starrer earned over Rs 2 crore within 11 days from the six multiplexes in Kochi, breaking the record of Pulimurugan.
