For the first time, a Marathi movie will be promoted on "The Kapil Sharma Show," which airs on Sony Entertainment Television. The cast and crew of "Sairat," which is doing well commercially, will appear on Kapil Sharma's comedy show "The Kapil Sharma Show" to promote the film.
Kapil's show is a good platform to promote films and shows. Bollywood celebrities and television actors are often seen appearing on the show before their big release, but this time a Marathi will be promoted on the comedy show.
"Sairat" director Nagraj Manjule and actors Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar will be the next guests on Kapil's show, Marathi daily Loksatta reported. This will be for the first time actors from the Marathi cinema will appear on Kapil's show. The "Sairat" team will shoot the special episode on June 5, i.e. Sunday.
The Manjule directorial is one of the biggest blockbusters released this year. The film has taken the worldwide box office by storm with its phenomenal collection. "Sairat" is the first Marathi film to take its box office income to over Rs. 75 crore in India. Apart from being a huge commercial success, the film is also garnering rave reviews from celebrities and movie-goers.
Recently, "Housefull 3" actor Riteish Deshmukh praised the film and compared the box office success of "Sairat" with Bollywood's biggest blockbusters like "Dhoom 3" and "3 Idiots."
"Sairat is the first Marathi film to cross Rs 50 crore, and that's huge! And of what I hear, I am sure it will cross Rs. 75 to 80 crore. To keep things in perspective, when you talk about such figures in Maharashtra and the territory it belongs to, the success of 'Sairat' is almost equivalent to a Dhoom 3 or 3 Idiots," Riteish told the Quint.
