Sai Dharam Tej's "Rey" and Gopichand's "Jil", which are scheduled to be released in theatres across the globe on 27 March, will clash at the box office this week.
Directed and produced by YVS Chowdary, "Rey" is a musical romance drama film high on action quotient. Sai Dharam Tej plays hero, while Saiyami Kher and Shraddha Das appear in female leads. Farhad Shahnawaz, Arpit Ranka, Tanikella Bharani, Brahmanandam, MS Narayana, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Ali, Raghu Babu and Venu Madhav are in supporting cast.
Besides producing and directing "Rey", YVS Chowdary has also penned the story along with Sridhar Seepana, and the screenplay with Rajasimha. He has also written dialogues for the movie, which has Chakri's music, Chandrabose's lyrics, Gunasekharan's camera work, Ganesh and Stunt Shiva's action, Raghu Kulkarni's art direction and Raju Sundaram, Jani, Sekhar, Bhanodaya and Prem Rakshith's dance choreography.
"Jil" is a romantic action entertainer, which has been directed by Radha Krishna and jointly produced by Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati.
Gopichand plays hero, while Rashi Khanna appears as his love interest in the movie. Chalapathi Rao, Posani Krishna Murali and Srinivas Avasarala are other key artistes in the film, which has Mohamaad Ghibran's music.
Gopichand is one of the popular actors of Tollywood and has decent fan following across the world. He has already featured in 19 movies and his last two releases "Sahasam" and "Loukyam" were box office hits. He is hoping to score a hat-trick success with his 20th outing "Jil".
On the other hand, Sai Dharam Tej is another young hero and fortunate enough to have a connection with Mega family, which has many fans around the world. "Rey" was to be his debut film, but its release was delayed due to financial problems. His first release "Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitam" was a hit at the box office.
The promos of Both "Jill" and "Rey" have impressed viewers, who are now eagerly waiting for their release. Both of them have got 'A' certificate from the Censor Board. Their producers have had massive promotion for them and have grand plans for their release worldwide.
Trade experts from T-town predict that "Jill" and "Rey" are surely going to clash with each other at the box office. Both the films boast of their own set of strengths, but it is the word-of-mouth that will decide their fate at the ticket counters. Which one of the two will top the box office chart?
