Shah Rukh Khan, whose upcoming film "Happy New Year" is set to hit the theatres on 24 October, will be playing a double role in Maneesh Sharma's "Fan".
Khan, who has begun shooting for the film, will be seen essaying the role of a superstar's fan. Now, according to recent reports, there's an element of "mistaken identity" in it as well.
"While one will be a superstar, the other would be his humshakal. And there would be a mistaken- identity element in the film which is obvious considering there will be two SRKs," stated a Bollywood Life report.
Also, "in the opening sequence of the film, the audience would get to see the twins. Superstar Shah Rukh Khan will be seen celebrating his birthday outside his mansion Mannat and his twin (Rahul) will be watching him from a distance in absolute awe," added BL.
However, reports also suggest that duplicate Mannat (SRK's palatial bungalow) has been erected at Film City, Mumbai. Another interesting aspect of the film happens to be Khan's look which has apparently been designed by Academy Award-winning make-up artist Greg Cannom.
"We are attempting a never-seen-before look for Shah Rukh which will be both challenging for us and exciting for the viewer. Understandably, this will be kept under wraps till the first look of the film is revealed," The Times of India quoted Sharma.
Calling it the most challenging role of his over two-decade old career, Khan reportedly said the film didn't need a big female star and that two heroines have been signed onboard. Slated for an Independence Day 2015 release, the film apparently features an action sequence atop a train.
"The set for the scene consisted of three train wagons that were recreated in the studio. One of the wagons was only half made so that the interiors could be shot with ease," Hindustan Times quoted an insider.
