From the posters and the recently-released teaser of "Sultan" it's quite clear that the film is a winner in the making. The film's lead actor, Salman Khan, opens up on what made him sign on the dotted line.
Salman, in his words, wanted to "enjoy the pain of learning." "The pain of learning, what these people have, which push you to the next level, somewhere I don't have that anymore. That is what I want to get back and that is the reason why I signed Sultan at 50 and enjoy the pain of learning," ANI quoted the superstar as saying.
Training to look every inch a wrestler, Salman has taken extensive mixed martial arts classes and worked closely with professional wrestlers. The 50-year-old actor reportedly swore off alcohol saying he will not touch liquor till the time he wraps up "Sultan."
"Sultan" has interesting premise and is a welcome departure from what Salman has indulged in past few years. "Ours is a sports film but there is action, there is a love story. There is no negative force.. He just has opponents," he had told Press Trust of India last year.
The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial is currently in its final leg of shooting. The cast and crew are in Bihargarh village of Muzaffarnagar, where apparently a 1,000-strong police contingent has been deployed by the state government for Salman's security.
The action-drama, which opens in theatres this Eid, also features Anushka Sharma as Salman's (Sultan Ali Khan) love interest. Randeep Hooda and Amit Sadh have significant roles to play as well.
