It looks like the launch of the new Brio from the house of Japanese car-maker Honda has almost been confirmed as the emerging reports on the web suggest that the launch will take place in early October.
While the exact launch date of the model is yet to be revealed, there are reports saying that the launch could happen on October 4. Honda has already started dispatching the new Brio hatchback to its dealerships in the country and the company is also expected to open the bookings soon.
To be pitted against Hyundai Grand i10, Toyota Etios Liva and Ford Figo in India, the new Brio facelift will come with a slew of updates inside and outside. From a visual stand point, while the Brio will retain its quirky rear styling, it is expected to get redesigned bumper with new grille in black and larger radiator intake. There is no change at the rear and side profiles of the model in the facelifted avatar.
As for features, expect the new Brio to get fresh layout finished in black; also includes is a new audio system, steering wheel-mounted audio button and automatic climate control. The interior treatment of the new Brio is believed to have been done in the same line of the BR-V and the Amaze. However, the new Brio will not feature the larger multi-information display (MID).
The facelifted avatar of the Brio will carry over the same i-VTEC 1.2-litre engine of the previous model, which produces maximum power of 89bhp at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm. The Brio is available with either five-speed manual or five-speed automatic transmission.
