Nintendo has finally released the much-expected NES Classic Edition miniature console aka Mini NES Classic that bears uncanny resemblance to the company's first-gen Nintendo Entertainment System hardware released in 1985. The USP of the new mini console is that it comes pre-loaded with as many as 30 vintage games that bring back childhood memories.
However, going by the latest reports it seems that the mini NES Classic cannot be purchased easily as stocks have already run out even within major retail stores in the US. Even e-tailers seem to have run out of stock. Amazon US had opened orders on Friday at 5PM ET; but those who tried to purchase the Mini NES Classic Edition console were fretting about the lack of availability.
At this juncture, it is worth noting that no pre-orders were opened by the sellers which meant that Nintendo loyalists had to go to the nearest brick-and-mortar Nintendo stores to pick up the Mini NES classic Edition. Nintendo has also come out with an official statement about the increased demand in the Mini NES Classic Edition.
The company is propagating optimism by having stated that new units of the mini NES Classic Edition would be made available with retailers soon. Participating e-tailers include Amazon US, Walmart, Best Buy, Target and Game Stop.
Now, with the NES Classic Edition official, it only makes sense to check out which retro games the next-gen console hosts. Check out the 30 vintage games below:
