Oscar Award-winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty is finally ready to enter Sandalwood. He is all set to make his Kannada debut with "Niruttara," which marks the directorial debut of Apurva Kasaravalli, son of National Award-winning filmmaker Girish Kasaravalli.
Speaking to the Times of India, Apurva said Pookutty gave the nod to work on his film only after he heard and liked the script.
"I asked a friend of mine to put me in touch with Resul and I then narrated the script to him. He liked the story, as well as how I had planned to use sound in the film. The thing about technicians like Resul is that they need to be convinced of the story and the team, irrespective of how big the project is," the daily quoted Apurva Kasaravalli as saying.
The young filmmaker is happy Resul Pookutty has liked the story and chosen "Niruttara" for his Sandalwood debut.
Resul Pookutty started his career in Sanjay Gupta's Hindi movie "Musafir," and he shot to fame with "Slumdog Millionaire," which won him the Oscar. Some of the popular films that he has worked are "Ra. One," "Endhiran: The Robot" and "Adaminte Makan Abu."
The movie stars Rahul Bose, Bhavana, Aindrita Ray and Kiran Sriniva. It has Niladri Kumar's music. "Niruttara" talks about sensitive relationships set in urban locales.
