Julian Fellowes' "Downton Abbey" presented us with the most horrific episode ever last week. In case you missed it, the patriarch of the Crawley family, Robert Crawley, vomits blood on the dinner table while his mother, the Dowager (Maggie Smith) and Isobel Crawley (Penelope Wilton) are entangled in a heated discussion about (irony) the state of Downton's hospital.
In Episode 5, Lord Grantham's stomach ulcer bursts open and he undergoes an operation to remedy the problem.
Amid panic and chaos at the estate, the eldest daughter of the Crawleys, Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery), overhears her mother and grandmother discuss Lady Edith's (Laura Carmichael) daughter, Marigold. As is normal, she looks pale when the information slips in between her ears. After all, Lady Mary has been under the illusion that Marigold is the natural daughter of the estate's farmer, Mr. Drew.
However, it looks like Lady Mary will pursue the truth in Episode 6. We predict that she will ask her trusted and loyal lady's maid, Anna if she has any information about Marigold.
Furthermore, she might ask her grandmother to reveal the truth about her younger sister, Lady Edith's relationship to young Marigold. Throughout the series, they have been extremely close and have supported each other when they've wanted certain schemes pushed.
For the Dowager, Mary's support might come in handy when the Crawleys open their doors to raise funds for the hospital. In Season 6's plot, Lady Violet has fought a relentless battle to oppose Downton's hospital merger.
The official synopsis for Episode 6 reads: "The house is made open to the public to raise money for the hospital, an act that divides opinions among the family and the servants. Tensions between Violet and Cora come to a head as a decision is made about the hospital takeover. Mr Dawes has a proposition for Molesley (Kevin Doyle), and Baxter (Raquel Cassidy) is thrown into turmoil by an unexpected letter. Carson (Jim Carter) is not happy with Thomas (Rob James-Collier), while Mary and Edith hope to overcome their past and find true happiness with the new men in their lives."
"Downton Abbey" Season 6 Episode 6 airs on Sunday, 25 October at 9pm on ITV. You can live stream the episode online via ITV Player.
