There was much hoopla around the kissing scene Rajeev Khandelwal (Kabir) and Kritika Kamra (Ananya) shot for "Reporters". The buzz continued when Ankita Bhargava (Shreya) joined the cast as Kabir's wife. However, reports now suggest that the makers have decided to pull the plug on the show by early September.
Talking to Absolute India News, a source revealed that the TRP ratings of the show have been low and hence it is set to go off air.
"The channel is all set to pull the plug by the first week of September owing to low numbers. The current TRP of the show is 0.2," the insider further elaborated, adding that the channel doesn't have another show ready to take the slot and so "Reporters" will continue its run until they have arranged for a replacement.
However, this piece of news contradicts with Shrishti Arya's (Producer, Rose Audio Visuals) account. She said "Reporters" is a finite series and has 130 episodes, which means the show is on till early October.
Rajeev too shared similar information saying he signed a contract of 120 episodes, to which 10 more have been added.
"It is a finite series so it is bound to end someday. The show will go off air, when it completes its run, irrespective of its numbers," he pointed out.
Whatever the fate of the show may be, Kritika is thrilled about the series being a finite one as she doesn't enjoy being part of shows that drag for eternity.
"It comes to a logical conclusion and it doesn't go on for years and leaps happen and (the story gets) dragged," IANS quoted her as saying.
